David Garrett is a virtuoso and genius of the modern violin. Acquaintance with the instrument occurred at a fairly early age, but became the passion and love of life.
At the very beginning of autumn, September 4, in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, the Federal Republic of Germany, a boy was born and named him David Christian Bongartz. Yes, it was such a name in childhood that a famous violinist had. In the future, with increasing popularity, the family will decide to change the name for melody, ease of perception and memorization.
Georg Peter Bongartz, a father of David Garrett, worked as a lawyer and was involved in the sale of violins. The head of the family provided his family with everything necessary. But he didn’t give love to his children at all, so there was never a warm trusting relationship between them.
You can’t say the same about mother Garrett David, the famous ballet mastermind Dove Garrett. She possessed an incredible power of love and skillfully distributed it among her three children. It is from her that the son will take over the craving for musical art. Just the boy will take her surname as a pseudonym and.
David is the third child in the family, has an older brother and sister. They did not receive education in a general school, but individually with the help of tutoring lessons. Therefore, from socialization, they only had one another.
First met David Garrett with a violin at the age of four. Her father gave her older brother a birthday. But it happened as if the instrument itself had chosen its owner and she switched to use for the baby. Thus was born the greatest gift that will bring David world fame.

A seven-year-old boy studied violin mastery at a school in Lübeck with renowned music teacher Zakhar Bron. A year later, he performed at concerts. At 9, he participated in the annual Kissinger Sommer Classical Music Festival in Bavaria.
When David was 11 years old, Richard von Weizsäcker (President of Germany), impressed by his virtuoso playing during one of the concerts, decided to present a present - the Stradivarius violin.
At the age of twelve, young talent appears on the same stage with Ida Haendel. And a year later he creates his album and signs a contract with a record company Deutsche Grammophon and speaks at the personal invitation of the President of the country, playing the Stradivarius violin.
From the age of 16, David Garrett performs with various orchestras and toured the world.
At 17, the violinist goes to study at King's College London. But after the first semester, he realizes that this is not for him. At the age of 19, the guy decides to move to New York to further study music at the Juilliard School. Parents did not support the idea, so David, breaking ties with family, independently followed his intentions. This was not an easy period, the guy even had to work as a dishwasher and even toilets.
David Garrett creates his songs in the style of a crossover, weaving together classics and music in the style of jazz, folklore, country, rock. Thus, he makes classical works closer and more interesting to the people, revealing all their modulations and harmony during his concerts.
In 2007, Montegrappa Italian writing instrument company invited David Garrett to become the face of the Tributo ad Antonio Stradivari collection, an elite fountain pen line.
Also, the virtuoso violinist became the protagonist of the film “Paganini: Devil's Violinist”. By the way, some critics notice the similarity of real-life biographies of David Garrett and Niccolo Paganini.
Personal life
Probably many of you will say: how can such a talented, successful handsome man have no one? But David Garrett is so busy with his touring life, creative projects, concerts, music and honing his master, that there are simply no plans to create a family in his life.
There were times when novels were attributed to him with Shannon Hudson, Tatyana Gellert, Chelsea Dunne, Alena Gilbert, Yana Fletoto. But all these relations have not turned into something serious.
Undoubtedly, David Garrett has innumerable fans. But like any self-respecting man, the violinist is inclined to the fact that he must conquer his girlfriend himself.
